20% lowest income 20% highest income Hi Doris, I’m wondering if we can use survey data to look at how equal Scotland is? Well, we can compare the lowest income households to the highest ones and see what has changed over these 20 years. Let’s start by looking at communities. In terms of housing, people on higher incomes are more likely to own their own home, and they always have been. However, by 2019 more people on lower incomes owned their homes than before. Private renting has increased for both groups over the 20 years. % households that rate their neighbourhood as very good % of Owner Occupiers over the 20 years So, in summary, higher income households are more likely to own their own homes and be happier with their neighbourhood than lower income households. 20% lowest income 20% highest income
