Well Conor, in 1999 young people were more likely to socially rent their homes, but in 2019 they were more likely to privately rent. For this group, private renting increased from 30% to 56% over 20 years. Since 1999, the percentage of young owner occupiers has almost halved. So, more young people are in education and have money in their pockets, but they are more likely to privately rent and less likely to own their homes. Well Conor - there has been an increase in young people (aged 16 - 24) in higher and further education, and they are managing better financially than they were 20 years ago.
